Recipe below...

Ingredients:

(recipe yields two servings)

Filling:

2 medium-sized apples (peeled, cored, and thinly sliced)

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Crumble Topping:

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

1/3 cup brown sugar (packed)

1/4 cup unsalted butter (cold and cut into small cubes)

1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

Procedure:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a personal-sized baking dish or individual ramekins.

In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated with the spices and sugar.

Transfer the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish or ramekins, spreading it out evenly.

In another bowl, prepare the crumble topping by combining the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and salt. Add the cold cubed butter and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to incorporate the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples, covering them evenly.

Place the baking dish or ramekins on a baking sheet (to catch any drips) and place it in the preheated oven.

Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the topping turns golden brown, and the apples are tender and bubbling.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. It pairs wonderfully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream!

Enjoy your homemade personal apple crumble/crisp!
